Deep Tissue & Swedish Massage

Massage has been a healing modality in various cultures around the world for thousands of years. This hands-on therapy promotes better health, bringing more oxygen and nutrients to the muscles and organs of the body. The knock-on effects of this are easing muscle pain and tightness.

Whether you’re looking for support with aches/pain with a deep tissue massage or a Swedish massage that promotes more relaxation, this is the therapy for you. We will always discuss your goals and your preferred level of pressure both before and during the treatment.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

When you arrive for your first treatment, there will be a short consultation with me where we will review your medical history and what you hope to gain from your treatment. We will review your preferred level of pressure and the areas to be treated. Each treatment lasts one hour and I see clients at the Urban Co-Op, located in Eastway Business Park, Limerick.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient healing method that is often combined with forms of massage. Cups are primarily used to help ease pain and various types are used around the world. The cups I use in my practice are plastic and silicon. Blood flow to the treated area is increased when the cups are suctioned to the skin, promoting muscle relaxation so massage can be more effective.

During your visit, we will explore if cupping may be beneficial for you. Once suctioned to the skin, cups may remain on the body for 10-20 minutes and they may be tender. Please note, they often leave marks on the body which will fade in 2-7 days for most people.
